Long time Temple basketball coach Fran Dunphy has suddenly been replaced by recently fired, from Indiana University, head basketball coach Tom Crean on a 4-year deal.
Sources confirm Dunphy was in the limbo on the last 2 years of his contract and Temple University's athletic board has noted of a decline in program performance and in agreement with Dunphy to buy out the remaining term of his contract.
Crean, who was fired by Indiana after a lackluster 3 previous seasons at Indiana with limited tournament performances, has taken over as head coach of Temple Men's Basketball effective immediately.
