Alisa Allison, a native North Carolina woman who currently resides in Panama City, Florida is the newest winner in a multi-million dollar sweepstakes that was held by the Gulf Coast Realtors Association (GCRA). The contest is held once every five years in the Florida panhandle to promote and bring awareness to gulf coast properties as well as the promotion of the Coastal Preservation Initiative created by Florida Governor Rick Scott. According to GCRA, monies for the sweepstakes are donated from a pool of donations from realtors throughout the panhandle. One stipulation of the contest is that the winner must purchase a small tract of land along the gulf coast that cannot ever be commercialized. Such restrictions are part of the Governor's plan to preserve existing undeveloped property in the gulf. As of press time Friday, Alisa Allison was unavailable for comment. A spokesperson for Ms. Allison said that she is currently enroute to Cozumel, Mexico with her family for the weekend.
