Better known by her pen name, J.R. Ward, Bird was involved in a devastating car accident on the Kentucky side of Cincinnati late Monday night. She was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m. She was best known for her paranormal romance series, The Black Dagger Brotherhood.
