Preston Hopper, known by his rap name as $xars WRLD, was a 13-year-old aspiring rapper.
Today his friends and family woke up to the terrible news that on the 20th of November 2020 at 2:21AM he was found dead. CCTV footage from a corner shop showing a scuffle with what looked to be a 2 gangs, next thing shown was everyone running and Hopper on the floor. Noise complaints were filed and police came out to find Hopper already dead, other members fled the scene.
Hopper was known to have been active in a gang for the past 4 months. Police belive this scuffle was between 2 rival gangs.
Gangs are very rare in Durham, Hopper was very unlucky to find himself in one.
Reports show he died from three gunshot woods to the chest. He was killed just 6 days before his 14th birthday.
