Sean Melancon, of Denham Springs, woke up to a noise in his parents' house while his father was at work. Found man inside of the house, armed with a 9 millimeter. He quickly sprung into action, disarming the unidentified man, and knocking him out unconscious. He then pressed the panic button on the home alarm system and stayed near the intruder until police arrived. The intruder is still recovering in a local hospital, suffering a shattered jaw, among other injuries. Sean said, "I didn't know the guy, and when I saw that gun, I knew I had to take him out." Sean also credits his father for teaching him right from wrong, and how to "take out punks" as he put it.
