Ware Shoals police responded Thursday, October 27, around 9:00 p.m. to an incident on Riegel Avenue.
A rash of 911 calls alerted officers to a middle aged Caucasian man allegedly trying to force a clown nose down his victims throat.
The victim, an as of yet unidentified male, dressed in a clown costume and attempted to lure children into the woods when Shane Odermatt, 43, assaulted the clown with a toilet seat he found in the gutter.
The clown sustained serious facial, cranial, and upper torso injuries. When police arrived, Mr. Odermatt was forcing a clown nose into the clowns esophagus, yelling, "Who's laughing NOW bitch!?"
The unidentified clown tragically passed enroute to Greenwood Hospital. His last words were;
"Squeeee....squeeek" as paramedics were unable to remove the red clown nose from his throat.
