Follow-Up On Headless Man Story Circulating in Poplarville

A few days ago a story hit the internet about a Police officer encountering what appeared to be a headless man wandering around the railroad crossing at Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Poplarville Mississippi. Although there has been no official public comment from the officer involved, speculations were running high that this was some type of pre-Halloween prank carried out by someone with a vivid imagination. But all that changed today. It appears that this story raised so much curiosity until some local amateur ghost hunters decided to stake out the area about this morning around the time of the original siting. There is an unconfirmed report that they did detect paranormal activity with their equipment and in the course of tracking it's movement they stumbled upon a skull. It's our understanding that this skull has been turned over to the proper authorities and has been sent to the State Crime Lab for possible identification. At this time there are no further information about this matter but we will share any updates as they become available.
