A woman and man arrested after pretending to be police officers. Monday October 24, 2016 local police were dispatched to a possible DUI vehicle on HWY 17 when responding to the call, another officer noticed a small silver sedan traveling at a high rate of speed. Officer Smith stopped the vehicle and while aproaching, realized the couple was dressed in what appeared the be police officer Haloween costumes, which didn't seem to give any suspicion since the holiday is right around the corner, after asked for her driver license she was nurvously shuffling through her floor and back seat attempting to find her license, in the process the officer asked who appeared to be her boyfriend where they were in such a hurry to, not thinking he said "We were listening to the police scanner and heard a call about a possible DUI and we were on the way to handle it until you pulled us over." Confused the police officer asked "How exactally were you going to do that?" Driver finally finds her license, hands it to the police along with a list of peoples names explaining they had pulled them over and "taught them a lesson" Officer Smith asked the normal question "Is there anything illegal in this car?" Driver and boyfriend insisted there wasn't and gave the officer permission to search the vehicle. After searching, hundreds of dollars, fake police badges, fake ticket books, a set of handcuffs and a flashlight was seized, making it obvious this couple had been pulling over innocent people and writing fake tickets or accepting money in agreeance to not writing them a "ticket". While being handcuffed the couple stated they believed they shouldn't be arrested instead be recognized for being a good citizen and helping get the criminals off the street. They have been charged with impersonating a polive officer/government official. Couple has been released by bail .Court date has been scheduled for November 3, 2016
