The Department of Motor Vehicles has just issued a state-wide ban on cellular devices being carried on a person or even within a vehicle while on the road.
And if you don't live in Michigan, don't feel safe yet! Other municipal governments have gotten the same idea and the legislation is spreading across the country.
This issue is to be presented as a bill in the 2017 session of Congress, in the hopes that the in-vehicle cell phone ban can become federal legislation.
