Most people will recognize this Tuesday for the Melbourne Cup, however a small group of Australians will be gathering at Bald Hill Park in Melbourne's South East to celebrate National Midget Day.

The Midget Day celebrations shall center arround the annual inaugural Midget Marathon, which is expected to finnish in a close heat.

Whilst the day's main event is the Marathon, other sideline competitions shall take place to provide a fun family day out.

The "Midget's Got Talent" show will be featured on the main stage from 1:30PM until 6PM, showcasing Melbourne's many midget marvels. A special guest performance is expected from local Paul Kasparidis (AKA Tyrion), however there is a concern that Mr. Kasparidis may be unable to perform due to lack of consciousness; as he is also competing in the midget toss into the lake at Namatjira Park, which kicks off at 11am.

Gecko events spokesperson, Chip (who organize the festivities) commented that the Midget Day Celebrations are an excellent way to escape the Melbourne Cup Madness, and assures punters that they won't be short changed showing up this Tuesday.
