On Sunday October 30, 2016, local resident Bryan Bylotas was fishing on the south end of the lake when he got the biggest surprize of the season.
At 10lb 2oz this smallmouth has officially been recorded as the new state record, breaking the old one by an ouncecaught yesterday on the Susquehanna.
When asked, Brian said he had been fishing that spot for the past 5 years, and has produced some nice fish. He said, "the bite was incredible and i thought it was a catfish, because I've never witnessed a pull like that from a bass."
This is a once in a lifetime fish, and he plans on going out on the water again as quick as possible.
