Halloween is a time for fictional characters, face paints, and the occasional monster.
On Saturday October 29, 2016, local resident Andrew D'acunto was fishing on the East side on the Route 30 bridge when he got the biggest surprize this Halloween.
At 8lb 14oz this smallmouth has officially been recorded as the new state record, breaking the old one by more than a pound.
When asked, Andrew said he had been fishing that spot for the past 2 years, and has produced some nice fish. He said, "the bite was incredible and i thought it was a carp, because I've never witnessed a pull like that from a bass."
This is a once in a lifetime fish, and he plans on going out on the water again as quick as possible.
