Street racers tear up Newcastle roads

Street racing is becoming more and more popular in the north east of England, with Newcastle upon Tyne having the most incidents reported!
672 phone calls to the police reporting illegal street racing taking place were recorded by Northumbria Police in 2015.
We've managed to attend a regular car meet, which is held at Team Valley retail park every Sunday evening, While there we got to chat to a few car enthusiasts who wished to remain anonymous so we could get an insight into the dark world of street racing.
They told us that the main north east car group was called "summer Maddness" and that for the last 10 years they've held old school memorial "cruises" celebrating the old "max power" days of the ninety's and naughties in memory of 2 lads that tragically passed away. Apparently the main man who runs Summer Maddness has a history with street racing dating back to the mid 90's although his name and identity remains anonymous to us.
From what we've been told, an ex "summer Maddness right hand man" spurred off to start his own group, going by the name "5w" who have a motto of "we do what we want". This group is ran and headed up by a Damien Rogers who also has street racing history spanning back years, he proudly shows off the Northumbria police video of Rogers racing a BMW in his modified Subaru.
Rogers, who wears a ridiculous moose hat, is usually drunk and can normally be seen wandering around a car park, with a can of Budweiser in his hand rambling such things as "I'm the king of the car park" or "wees keys are these keys" because he's a makam cunt!
