Talks about the possible introduction of new legislation banning the modification of cars are due to begin as soon as next week.

The intended legislation, put forward by the Secretary of Transport, Chris Grayling MP, sets to ban all modifications, including cosmetic adjustments, in an effort to reduce the number of deaths caused by so called 'Boy Racers'- allowing only factory extras being permitted.

This legislation has seen a huge nagative response from members of the Modified Car Scene, who claim that these new laws will not prevent accidents, and instead will only prevent them from expressing themselves through their vehicle.

Chris Gayling MP has since responded to these claims, claiming that 'Modification isn't necessary to express one's interests' and that modifying a car 'does nothing more than cause distress for members of the public' and 'encourage owners of these vehicles to drive irratically'.
