Galway United fan Cameron Loughnane has stood in Galway district court today after setting Sligo Rovers' home stadium alight during an under eleven girls blitz. As the offender is still a minor all charges were inevitably dropped in the eyes of the law. Mr Loughnane has been in Irelands only juvenile detention centre eight times in the last ten years but on his release he promised to never enter the doors again. To his luck, Mr Loughnane was only handed a lifetime ban from all league of Ireland games but as a massing Galway United fan and recruitment officer for the Maroon Army, Mr Loughnane said "they might as well of given me life".
The FAI hope that by getting rid of all true league of Ireland fans, they won't have to put anymore money into making the league of ireland bigger and better. President of the FAI, John Delaney stated that "the €3,000" the FAI pump into the league of Ireland every five years is "more than enough"
Time will only tell if Cameron Loughnane's attempts to make the league of Ireland better, for the people of Ireland, will end in success. I highly doubt so.
