Now 17 year old Matthew Usher was left with his heart in pieces when his Chocolate Labrador, responding to the name of George, left home and travelled to New Zealand. One morning Matthew woke up to see his front door left wide open. At the doorstep was a note from George telling Matthew he has left their family to live in New Zealand. In the note it stated that "[George] couldn't take the sexual assault anymore" from his owner Usher and that he felt "betrayed and hurt" by his owners actions. Matthew spent the next few day searching the streets of Shirehampton in Bristol yelling his former dog's name. After two years Matthew is regaining contact with George through Skype calls and other means of communication. George isn't coming back just yet as quarantine restrictions are brutal there.
