After years of slagging from Ballyfermot and Blanchardstown Garda Stations, referring to Lucan as Sleepy Valley, Supt. Steve O'Byrne of Lucan Garda Station has hit back at his peers saying "Ahh here lads, that's not on".
Lucan Garda Station has contacted South Dublin AND Fingal County Council housing departments urging them to consider sending some of their most undesirable tenants Lucans way to spice up the crime scene a little. " All we seem to have is burglaries and traffic offences here and it would be nice to have something bigger" said Gda. Peter Brown. "Some of the young bucks are fed up of watching "True Crime" on the telly, they want something to get their teeth into." he added.
When we contacted the garda press office for comment, we were told the commissioner was busy pruning her fig trees to prepare for next summer's figrolls, and would ring us back in a while.
