Last Week, the Middlesbrough Council received numerous complaints about the safety of the students as they leave and enter the academy, especially in large groups. As Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust recently bought Rye Hills school ,Redcar Lane, the school will be making plans to move into Rye Hills and rename it Nunthorpe Hill Academy as of 2018.
After the school has moved to the Redcar school, the building will be refurbished into a Pupil Referral Unit and has been given selected names (Nunthorpe Wing, River Ridge Academy or Ormesby Bank Park School)
