During today's monthly briefing, the topic of the state of the railroad was a key factor. "Look at it, the Empire Builder was 20 hours late today, ridiculous!", says Daniel Young, chief of engineering at Amtrak. The key point Young, and many other employees brought up was how late some of its movements have been lately, and that customer ridership is down, and some think late arrivals are to blame. They then pointed at Wick Moorman, claiming that he wasn't doing anything about. Robert Johnson, underlying CEO of Amtrak, was outraged that Moorman was leaving him to do all the work. A strike may be in the works says Johnson, until Moorman 'steps up his game'.
