A sudden rise in anti-semitic hate mail is currently being investigated by police in Accrington. Intercepted mail often compromises anti-semitic slurs and ranges from circulars to large packages -Including letters and packages from the Holocaust Memorial Day trust- allegedly addressed to one resident, police say.
A royal mail spokesperson has said the incidents are "abhorrent and unacceptable" and was horrified at some of the worst slurs, including those related to the gas chambers in German concentration camps; where 6 million Jews lost their lives during the holocaust.
