Indiana Pacers team president, Larry Bird has announced through his agent that he will leave the Pacers, effective May 1. The reason as to why Bird will leave the organization is still unclear. But one thing remains very solid, Bird is out in Indiana.
More details should become available at a press conference Monday afternoon at 2pm at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Team Owner Herb Simon is expected to open the press conference with remarks regarding Bird's tenure as Team President.
Bird has been with the Pacers since 2003, aside from one year that he took off, citing back issues. Before being named team president, he led his home state NBA franchise to their one and only NBA Finals appreance in 2000, losing to the LA Lakers.
