We probably have all seen bears in the zoo, but how about one up close and personal. That happened to Jerry Haspeht on March 28,2017. The bear only harmed the groceries in the back of the car, but Jerry was terrified the whole time. "When I saw the thing coming at me like a big black boulder, I sped up, but I had to slow down when I saw a stop sign. I'm a good citizen," he says, "So the bear came at the car and I hid under the dash. The thing took some of my groceries and lumbered off. I'm glad I escaped with my life."
To be safe around bears, don't attract attention or make sudden noises. Get down and hide and when the bear goes away, you should get away too. Drive away.
