In a surprise upset over region-favorites such as Munster's Three Floyds and Hammond's 18th St. Brewery, Byway Brewing has again, inexplicably won an award. Founder and owner Dave Toth exclaimed "We don't know why we keep winning these things. We know it's not our beer, but hey, we'll take it."
Byway Brewing opened in the Oxbow area of Hammond a year ago and is known for their mediocre takes on standard craft styles such as golden ales, pale ales, and stouts.
