There was a clear sighting of a lion by a lone runner on the Monon Trail late Wednesday evening. As the runner was making his way north between 75th and 86th streets, a large lion leisurely crossed the Monon Trail, giving the runner time to take the incredible picture attached to this article. Although lions are commonly referred to as the most lethal of the cat family, as this is common knowledge, users of the Trail should not be overly alarmed, as IMPD and Animal Patrol will be out in force until it is captured. This isn't the first time Indianapolis has been the center of national news regarding an animal (i.e. last weeks Bull shark) and it sure won't be the last. People must be asking themselves; what is next? If you happen to see the lion please contact Animal Control immediately.
