NASA has just confirmed that a recent asteroid impact on the Moon has caused it to drift toward the Earth. While this isn't an immediate concern, significant changes to the Earth surface long with tidal events will begin becoming apparent within 5 years. Currently, there is nothing we can do to stop this eventual collision that will occur sometime around the year 2200.
