Six Flags Entertainment announced on Monday that they were seeking to develop an amusement park in the Myrtle Beach area. The announcement came as a surprise as Hard Rock failed in their attempt to bring an amusement park to the Grand Strand. Ron Boyles, president of Six Flags, stated that they intend to invest heavily into the park. Plans are underway to bring several attractions to the park, including an Intamin launch coaster as well as a steel and wood hybrid from Rocky Mountain Construction. Construction is expected to begin in October with a tentative opening date of the spring of 2019. Sic, you'll just have to ride speedy Gonzalez.
