On Thursday, Engineering Test Manager Kari Niebell took her pet Cascade (a rescue with separation anxiety from Second Chance Dog Rescue), into her Sorrento Valley office to beat the heat, and to help with her anxiety. Little did Ms. Niebell know that morning that her plan would backfire. Not only did Cascade's barking annoy her co-workers, disrupting office productivity, the barking even affected the daily competitive table tennis tournament. So much so that office champion Randy (who did not want to give his last name), was "off his game". Or at least that's the excuse he gave when ping-pong newcomer Maryam A. defeated him, 21-16, three straight sets.
