Scientists from the famed Institute for Scientific Facts based out of Brussels, EU recently released a report finding the effects of wind turbines to be extremely detrimental to the rotation of the planet.
As countries push to rely less on fossil fuels and more on renewable energies one of the big successes has been wind power. Turbines are now popping up all across America and the world as we harness the power of wind to produce electricity.
Unlike Solar power, Wind Turbines can produce power 24/7 as long as there is enough of a breeze.
The report explains that if too many of these turbines are turning at once the motion can cause the planet to rotate 0.3 degrees off axis. This can cause tidal shift, with tides being higher or lower than expected. It can also effect the gravitational pull on the planet and can confuse birds.
One surprised home owner that lives next to a large wind farm in Elwood, IN, USA found a whole flock of birds had landed in their yard and were roosting on the ground.
Further studies are necessary.
