Reports from USDA have announced that rabbit meet will be coming to store shelves as soon as November 2017. After careful consideration the Food and Drug Administration has allowed small farmers to mass-produce rabbits on their homesteads. Because rabbits are so delicate and cannot be inhumanely raised they can only be raised in the most perfect of living conditions. Therefore they cannot be mass-produced. Rabbit will only be allowed to be produced by small farms and homesteads. It used to be really hard to sell rabbit meat because they aren't seen as livestock by the USDA. However you can sell the meat if you have it processed at a USDA inspected facility. Whole Foods, Meijers, Walmart and a number of Restaurant chains have announced that they will purchase from suppliers that are licensed through the FDA.
