In a stunning turn on events, it has been announced that long time prisoner Bernie Madoff will be released from on prison and relocated to Little Neck, NY.
One of the most famous con artists in the American prison system will be walking free. On Tuesday Bernie Madoff, who is now 79 years old, was assigned to Work Release by the Butner Federal Correctional Institution and authorized by President Trump.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, prison overcrowding forced the prison board to re-evaluate prisoners that are elderly or those with serious illnesses. In February a panel of federal judges ordered the Federal Bureau of Prisons two more years to reduce chronic prison overcrowding that has cost the nation billions of dollars.
