Big Muddy Critter sightedness down by Big Muddy Creek in Halethorp.
John and Melissa Binghamton were just out to swim in the cool waters of the Patapasco on July 18th. It was 7:45 and nearing the 8 o'clock mark, the time they'd agreed to leave the swimming g hole and head back home. That's when John saw something he was certain was a trick of the waning summer light. "It was big. I mean like really big. 7 ft. Easy" John said trying to put to words the event of the day, not even 2 weeks prior. He went on to state, "I just couldn't accept what my eyes were telling me". By this time Melissa had seen the "critter" as well. He's what she had to say about it, "If I had my top on, I'd have run towards Hammonds Ferry Road so fast I'd have come clean outta my sandals!" The couple did call Baltimore County Police who responded and took a report. This writer tried to contact responding officers who denied our request for an interview.
The young who were highly agitated as the result of their encounter say they'll never return to swim in the Big Muddy branch if the Patapsco. As for the "Big Muddy Critter", I guess well ha e to wait. Wait until another person sees something they just cannot quite accept. He's out there though, just waiting.
