July 4, 2017, Jersey Shore (AP) – Frank Harrison of Ruskin, Florida was visiting family at Island Beach State Park on the Jersey Shore, when he witnessed a horrendous scene.
A large whale had beached itself on the shoreline. But little help was available for the whale, due to the fact that the beach was closed because the New Jersey government had shut down all non-essential government facilities, including state parks and beaches. Only 2 volunteers were available and were attempting to hydrate the whale and push it back into the Atlantic Ocean. As Harrison watched in horror, he realized they were pushing the wrong whale back to the water. He yelled, “the whale is the one in the beach chair, not the big fish on the beach”, but his calls for help went unheard and the whale in the beach chair, folded it up and walked to his state supplied limo with his family, friends, and body guards and drove to Ft. Lee New Jersey where he closed the George Washington bridge, again ~ just for fun.
