It has been reported and confirmed by three primary sources that President Donald Trump is set to resign at the end of August and will be succeeded by former secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. The Congress and House of Representatives have voted to approve the transition and will be providing an official statement within the next several days. Mike Pence, will continue to act in his role as Vice President and will fulfill his full term, in hopes of uniting both political parties.
Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, has released the following statement, "It is not in our best interests as a Government to continue with Donald Trump as our President due to his lack of experience, knowledge, and temperament regarding the serious issues that face our country. Even though Secretary Clinton is not our first choice, her experience will provide a sound foundation bridging us into the 2020 election."
Secretary Clinton and her team released the following statement, "The current track of our country is setting our government and the American people up for failure. It is only right that we make this strategic change to ensure the safety of our citizens."
Donald Trump's short tenure as president will cease on August 31st at noon when Secretary Clinton is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. The ceremony will take place at the U.S. Capitol's rotunda.
