Texas Commission on Elections officials spent most of Tuesday scouring Facebook documenting Brown County voters who shared and/or otherwise promoted the shark in Lake Brownwood article as true.

Commissioner E. Fudd released this statement: "These folks shouldn't be anywhere near a polling place. Brown County's voting machines will be distributed throughout the State, since they will not be needed. We'll just call the remaining three eligible voters for their ballots. In the likely event the area's cell service is interrupted, they can just use smoke signals."

Judge Roy Bean, the state's chief law enforcement official also weighed in on the situation. "Come September, texting and driving will be prohibited in 253 of Texas's counties. In Brown County, it will be recommended. We'll revisit the situation in a year and, if accidents haven't increased significantly in that time, it will mandatory to text and consume copious quantities of alcohol while driving."
