Ector County ISD Fine Arts Coordinator John Gillian has accepted the Director of Fine Arts position for Mentone ISD.
Mentone, famous for being the County Seat of Texas's and the USA's least populated county with a total population of 82 county residents, is an exciting, but challenging job for Gillian. "When Leslie, Jerry and I move to Mentone, the population of school-aged children will increase to 5, a 25 growth factor." This exciting news has Mentone abuzz.
A staring contest followed by "watching the lead-based paint peel from the school building walls" event are being organized by the welcome committee.
"We're fixin' to witness the biggest event since last fall's first frost contest!" commented school Superintendent/Custodian/ketchup-packet-opener C. Rusty Caballero.
