When it was reported that the Beckley Sears store located in Crossroads Mall would soon be closing it's doors for good. We had no idea that they were going to try to liquidate their merchandise so quickly. Manager Ben Dover spoke to us ans stated he was told to sell everything as quickly as possible and to take 95 percent off the retail prices in the store. Mr. Dover said he expects a huge turn out on the 9th and shoppers should try to get there early because when it gone it's gone. Assistance Manager Wilma Handue said she expects things to get sticky but hopes everyone enjoys the savings. We also spoke to Major Dick Holder with the Crossroads Security department and he stated that they will be as far away from Sears as possible and have their radios in the energy saving (off) mode. People were already lining up waiting for tomorrows sale.
