Dunellen Police Chief Jeffrey Nelson has announced his retirement on August 24th, 2017. "It's time to turn over the reigns" he said in his official statement, "I know with Dan in charge, this department is in great hands." Chief Nelson is referring to current Lieutenant Dan Smith, the natural pick to replace him.
Chief Nelson's final day is expected to be December 31st, with Smith being sworn in at the Dunellen Borough Council's annual reorganization meeting on January 1st, 2018.
"While we as a department appreciate the career and many years of sacrifice and service Jeff has given to this department, I look forward to the opportunity to try to follow in his footsteps." Smith said.
This is the same website that has the story about Shady McCoy coming to the Giants.
And this is why we shouldn't believe everything we see.
