Deer Park, NY - Representatives from the Suffolk County Board of Health and Human Services, as well as om the SCPD SPCA, responded to repeated complaints of unsanitary living conditions and animal cruelty at a Deer Park home. Anthony Mauro, 38, was removed from the residence and placed into custody of SCPD on several charges of animal cruelty. Mauro, whom has no prior record, has been "the focus of an ongoing investigation after several residents complained to the county about the lingering smell and animal mistreatment", according to Samuel Hoskins of the SCPD SPCA. Dozens of bags of feces and rotting consumables were removed from the residence. Mauro is scheduled to appear in First district court in Central Islip on September 14th.
