As of October 1st 2017 a new bill passed now makes it a level 3 felony crime if caught playing copyrited holiday music before thanksgiving day or after new years day. if found guilty of such charge one faces up to 5 years in prison and or $500,000 in fines and as little as 1 year probation and or $50,000 in fines.
