An emergency meeting of the Waverly City Council was held Wednesday night with only one agenda item. After the heated debate in the September 11th meeting it was decided to revisit and vote again.
The vote as held by a hand count to test the waters and then by a roll call vote in which the results were unanimous for a two-lane vehicular bridge.
Demolition of the old bridge is slated to begin on Monday the 25th with construction to commence on October 9th. The bridge should be open just after hell freezes over.
