According to an undisclosed source on the Jacksonville Jaguars the team has been in trade talks with the New England Patriots. The rumor circulating is the Jaguars are looking to lock in on the Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
It appears that the trade may include current starting quarterback Blake Bortles and draft picks. With 5x Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady still at the helm with no foreseen retirement in the coming seasons New England is willing to gamble trading his predicted heir. In nearly a decade the Patriots haven't made a bad trade, acquiring a still young Bortles and draft picks may be a plausible scenario.
As for the Jaguars this move would end the Bortles era and please their fan base desperate for their first winning season. Grappolo flashed his potential with Brady's suspension in 2016 so this could be the right move. This move likely won't occur until after week 3.
