Jefferson County CO, announced today, the recent purchase of the 270 acre general aviation Rocky Mountain Metro Airport, by a private developer. The 65 year old airport will close by late spring, 2018. Officials cited noise complaints from Boulder County as a factor. The property was sold to a private developer who plans on building a 350,000 seat, 1.5 mile NASCAR sanctioned race track.
