"America's IT workers are getting dumber." The President said during a press briefing this past Monday. "You look at computers now... how smart the computers are... you're like oh wow I didn't know they could do that... and now they're smarter than the people we pay to fix them."
The comment stemmed from a question regarding growth in education for the private job markets. President Trump used IT workers as his prime example, suggesting those workers should be made to pay for their own continued education. "They go out there... they get a job... and then they're like oh no this isn't what I learned... this is all... it's all different... they go into this and they don't know what they're doing. They need to go back to college... a real college... not some online college... not something they can do on nights and weekends... and they need... they need to learn computers better."
The remarks drew amazing criticism from the press pool, and was followed with immediate questions to White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who tried to clarify the President's statement. "The President believes that it is the responsibility of every citizen of this country to invest in their education, to ensure they can do the work asked of them in the private sector."
Sanders answered no more questions regarding this issue.
Our own sources have determined that the comment was related to an internal incident. According to a White House staff member who wished to remain anonymous, the outrage was caused by an upgrade to the White House WiFi networks to combat a known security violation, which temporarily rendered the President's personal device unable to communicate with Twitter.
