A local man, Mathaniel Chesson turned himself in Friday October 27th, 2017 after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Smithfield foods was defrauded for over 100 pounds of Applewood bacon. Chesson insisted he was the regional food inspector and claimed that numerous pallets of bacon were not fit for consumption. He told employees that he would "properly dispose" of the foul swine. 45 minutes later, a call came in notifying the staff that the company had no position called "Regional food inspector". Once confronted, Chesson pushed past employees yelling "pork on my fork!" repeatedly. Chesson was identified by surveillance footage of him cooking bacon in the parking lot on a George Foreman Grill. He was later released on bond. Currently pending charges.
