According to witnesses a total of 18 shots were fired. Early Monday morning police were called to a home in Hammond when they arrived they were shocked to see a bloodied man handcuffed to a headboard sitting on the front lawn of a burning house. When questioned the man a 27 year old black male said his fiancé tried to kill him, “she told me we were going to try something new tied me up then she pulled a little gun out her boot and shot me in the leg.” The victim said he was able to escape through the garage but not before he was shot a total of 4 times all non life threatening wounds. No one is sure on how the fire started but officials are on the scene. The woman 32 year old Hawkins was not at the scene when police arrived but later was apprehended while watching the scene in a crowd of bystanders.
