Washington County High School will be closing its doors after the current school year. The remaining students will be split between Jefferson County High School, Johnson County High School, and Hancock County High School. After repeated attempts by the state to get the school back on track academically and financially, Gov. Deal decided that it was best to just close the school down altogether.
