23 November 2017 - The Malaysian government has just issued its statement regarding its stand in the current Bitcoin fever. Tan Sri Razi, Minister of Communications, told the media earlier, "We have yet to issue our statement regarding Bitcoin and crytocurrencies, but we definitely believe that these illegal Bitcoin 'farmers' must be put to a stop".

These Bitcoin 'farmers', who run dozens of Bitcoin mining machines in a premise have been illegally tampering the electricity meters around the country causing a loss of RM 10.8 million to TNB (Malaysia's electricity provider) in the month of October 2017 alone.

"Currently, we have raided and shut 7 illegal Bitcoin farms around Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. We will continue our efforts to locate and raid these illegal farms", said Tan Sri Khalid, Chief Police Officer of Malaysia.
