Park Board has new idea for vacant doughboy statue mound

The Henry County Memorial Park Board in New Castle, Indiana has come up with the unique idea of having former President Barack Obama sit on the hill in the park overlooking State Road 3 to greet visitors as they enter the city.
The spot was formerly where the WWI Spirit of the American Doughboy statue stood since 1929 but the board agreed having a sitting president there would be more effective than a bronze statue that most people never even knew was there. The doughboy statue will now be placed in front of a newly created museum near Shively Lake in the park.
Says park board President Chad Malicoat, "We had this great spot on the hill created by county citizens almost 100 years ago and we thought why let it go the waste." Malicoat says cost isn't a factor since the former President is now retired, living on a fixed income and is grateful for the gig. "This way" states Malicoat "we sorta kill two birds with one stone."
Asked why the park doesn't just replace the doughboy statue on the hill once it is restored instead of going to all the trouble to replace it with President Obama, his reply was "We just like to make decisions and move stuff."
When asked how he liked the new job of hill-sitting, President Obama said "It's not too bad. I get to see a lot of people from far away and they don't come up and pester me because the mosquitoes are so bad, I think I'm going to like it here."
