After a long spell of dry hot weather, an unusual low pressure system is approaching. Moncton and the surrounding area will see a sharp dip in the temperature this evening as the system approaches. Thunderstorms are expected late in the afternoon and once the temperature drops, the rain will turn to sleet. 8-10cm are expected to fall, a mixture of both rain and snow. Tonight's low expected to reach -3°c overnight. Motorists are advised to maintain caution while driving. The temperature will rise again tomorrow but remain on the cooler side with a high forecast of 21°c.
