Police have identified the driver and passenger killed in a crash involving a car and pickup truck on Route 95 in Myrtle beach South Carolina on Thursday that left three others injured.
The driver of the car, Akin Greggs aka boogie ,24, of Brownsville Brooklyn was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 11pm in front of crown reef beach resort police said Friday.
The other passenger Manda Panda , 32 remain in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 37 year-old man from Wakana Lake was treated for minor injuries, authorities said.
Greggs was pulling out of Community Medical Center onto Route 95 east when his car suddenly "accelerated to a high rate of speed," hit a curb that divides the hospital complex entrance and exit, and traveled onto Route 95 at a 90-degree angle to the flow of traffic, police said.
The pickup truck, which was in the right lane, broadsided the car on the driver's side, police said. The force of the collision flipped the pickup truck on it side and it came to a stop in the left lane.
Greggs car was pinned against the barrier separating the east and westbound lanes of Route 95, police said.
The crash investigation led to extensive delays in the area as portions of Route 95 were closed and detoured Friday morning.
